Newington

James Coldwell

First elected in 2016, James has worked hard to build links among the many brilliant local community groups across Newington. He has helped establish a new Tenants & Residents Association, and fought for the development of new council homes on the Pelier Estate.

By day, James works for a charity in London Bridge which campaigns to drive up employment standards and workers’ rights.

On the council, he has championed the introduction of community-run energy schemes and continues to stand up for the rights of European citizens following the EU referendum vote.

Eleanor Kerslake

Eleanor has been a councillor in Newington for four years. She is passionate about Walworth and has fought hard for her local high street, including supporting the opening of a new credit union.

She works as a solicitor and has been chair of Chair of Community Council where she has supported debate and improvements on everything from local roads to big developments.

Eleanor has carried out casework for hundreds of residents, from getting adaptations for a disabled resident to finding suitable accommodation for families made homeless.

She is excited to be starting a family in the best corner of the best city in the world!

Alice Macdonald

Alice believes everyone should have the same opportunities in life. She wants to play her part to help make that happen.

Passionate about equality, justice and fairness. Alice works in international development, leading global campaigns against poverty and inequality. Locally, she has served as a school governor for several years.

Alice will fight to ensure that Newington is a green, affordable and safe place to live where young people have the opportunities they need to fulfil their potential.
