North Bermondsey

Sabina Emmanuel

Sabina has a long history of community activism.  In 1995, she represented her community in one of the country's most massive urban regeneration schemes, involving the redevelopment.

Of five estates she helped form and chair the Peckham Partnership Tenancy Residents’ Association to ensure everyone’s interests were fairly represented.

Her work in the community has been recognised with a Civic Award, Honour Liberty Camberwell.

Shahina Jaffer

Shahina is a Labour and Cooperative Party candidate and is committed to social justice and equality. She is an active member of the community, helping residents form a committee on the St James's Estate, to tackle issues about property maintenance and rent increases.

Shahina also works on community environmental projects and has been instrumental in forming a community urban garden project in Elephant and Castle.
