Octavia Lamb elected as new Labour councillor in South Camberwell

Octavia Lamb has been elected as the new Labour councillor for South Camberwell ward.


Labour candidate Octavia Lamb was announced as the winner of the South Camberwell ward by-election on Thursday 15 October, achieving nearly 60% of the vote. Octavia, who is a South Camberwell resident and local community activist, won with a majority of over 800 votes.

Octavia has lived in Southwark for seven years and is actively involved in her community, championing the importance of local businesses to their communities and campaigning to make changes to affordable childcare.


South Camberwell ward councillor Octavia Lamb said: “It’s an honour to be elected as a councillor in South Camberwell. I would like to thank everyone who took part in this election and all of the volunteers and campaigners who worked so hard to get this great result for Labour.


“I will work hard for local residents in my ward and I’m proud to become part of a Labour council delivering new council homes, creating jobs and apprenticeships, and investing in opportunities for local people.”


Labour leader of the council Peter John said: “I’m delighted to welcome Octavia as a new Southwark Labour councillor and ward colleague in South Camberwell.
