Samantha Jury-Dada wins Faraday by-election

Samantha Jury-Dada Samantha Jury-Dada has been elected as the newest Southwark Labour councillor after winning the Faraday by-election on 21st January.

Residents in Faraday elected Samantha, who is a local resident and campaigner, with over 60% of the vote.

Samantha was announced as the winner of the Faraday ward by-election on Thursday 21 January, achieving majority of over 800 votes.

Southwark Labour leader Peter John welcomed Southwark Labour's newest councillor and described Samantha's election as an 'overwhelming victory'.

Samantha made her maiden speech to Council Assembly just days after joining the council, speaking about the regeneration of the Aylesbury estate and thanking residents for the 'vote of confidence' they had placed in her. Samantha said she was committed to working hard to ensure that local residents on the Aylesbury estate enjoy the benefits of the regeneration.
